Just six months after regaining his freedom, Young Thug is facing a possible probation revocation following a controversial tweet about Atlanta prosecutor Marissa Viverito.
On April 2, prosecutors filed a motion arguing that the rapper’s since-deleted social media post—which called Viverito the “biggest liar in the DA’s office”—violated his probation terms.
Prosecutors’ Allegations
Court documents obtained by WSB-TV Atlanta claim the post demonstrated “blatant disregard for the law” and compromised witness safety. They also pointed to alleged threats made against Fulton County DA Fani Willis and the public disclosure of Viverito’s home address.
“The escalation from targeting a testifying witness to making a direct threat against the elected District Attorney of Fulton County is a grave and unprecedented attack on the justice system,” the motion read.
Young Thug Responds
Reacting on X, the rapper denied any wrongdoing, stating:
“I don’t make threats to people… I would never condone anyone threatening anyone or definitely participate in threatening anyone. I’m all about peace and love.”
His lawyer, Brian Steel, dismissed the motion as baseless, saying,
“While intimidation and threats of violence are never appropriate, Jeffery Williams has done nothing wrong. We look forward to seeking a dismissal of this petition.”

What’s Next for Young Thug?
If the judge rules in favor of prosecutors, Thug could be headed back behind bars. However, proving that a single tweet violated his probation might be a legal grey area, giving his defense team room to fight back.
Meanwhile, the “Digits” hitmaker is set to headline Summer Smash Festival 2025 in June alongside Future, Don Toliver, and Yeat. He also fueled speculation about a new project after being spotted at an NBA game holding a jersey that read “UY Scuti.”
