Nigerian music stars Wizkid and Davido emerged as winners at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards, which celebrates excellence in film, television, theatre, music, and literature.
Wizkid won the award for Outstanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration (Contemporary) for his song “Piece of My Heart” featuring Brent Faiyaz. Meanwhile, Davido secured the award for Outstanding International Song with “Hmmm”, his collaboration with Chris Brown.
This marks Wizkid’s sixth NAACP Image Award win, making him the most awarded Nigerian artist in the history of the ceremony.
Other Nigerian nominees, including Burna Boy and Tems, were unsuccessful in their respective categories.
The NAACP Image Awards, now in its 56th edition, continues to recognize outstanding contributions from Black artists and creatives worldwide.
