What were Mauricio Sulaimán’s exact words?

“Canelo felt the loss to Bivol inmenssly, if he losses to Golovkin on September 17, I think it’ll be very difficult for his career to go back to his actual status”, he expressed to journalist Toño de Valdés.

“He took a big risk when he decided to go up a division to face an undefeated world champ, he lost and now he risks everything against Golovkin.”

The WBC head said that he feels sorry that a lot of Mexican fans are waiting for Canelo to lose another fight, because he thinks the fighter is a man of the people, who’s always trying to help the community, even though some insist to not appreciate what he brings to boxing.

Eddie Hearn thinks a rematch with Bivol will have to wait

The British promoter Eddie Hearn doesn’t think a rematch between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Dmitry Bivol isn’t likely to happen anytime soon, even though the Mexican fighter has demanded a rematch for May, 2023.

During an interview with The DAZN Boxing Show, he said that Bivol was ordered to face Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez by the World Boxing Association, and after that he has the opportunity to face British fighter Joshua Buatsi, so Canelo will have to wait for his time to come.
