Portable, the controversial singer, has put out the visuals for his latest single titled ‘Am not a Prisoner’.
The singer was arraigned before the Ogun magistrate’s court in Ifo in early April after being detained in police custody for days.
The ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner was arrested on March 31 following the expiration of the 72-hour ultimatum given to him by the police to turn himself in.
The ultimatum came after he had resisted arrest by the police in Ogun state. He was accused of assault.
Shortly after he was granted bail on April 8, the singer put out a song titled ‘Am not a Prisoner’.
In the video, which was released on May 10, Portable recounts his ordeal while in prison.
“Omo ologo glorious/ Omo ologo latest glory o/ From star to Eagle/ Awa wo grace wey no dey disgrace/ Omolalomi/ They call me/ Portablebaeby oo/ They carry me go prison mi o gba aso/ Them go focus on me/ E ja wo l’oro mi / (am not a prisoner)/ They carry me go prison mi o gba aso/ Them go focus on me,” he sings in a mixture of Yoruba and pidgin English.
“E ja wo l’oro mi (am not a prisoner)/ Soro mi leyi kin pe olopa/ Ma fi ejo e sun olopa/ After God na government/ Ma fi ejo e sun olopa/Federal Government Liability/ Ma fi ejo e sun olopa/ Too much pressure ma/ Ma fi ejo e sun olopa.”
