Vinicius Junior has turned down a jaw-dropping €1 billion offer from Saudi Arabia and will instead sign a new contract with Real Madrid, showing his loyalty to the Spanish giants despite a rocky season.
According to Cadena SER, the 24-year-old Brazilian winger is set to extend his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu, with an official announcement expected at the end of the 2024–25 season. Though his current deal runs until 2027, Vinicius is reportedly signing fresh terms that could see him remain at the club for an additional two to three years.
While Madrid has had a disappointing campaign crashing out of the Champions League and potentially missing out on La Liga Vinicius has remained a bright spot with 20 goals and 14 assists so far. Despite being snubbed for the Ballon d’Or last year, the Brazilian star remains focused on performing at the highest level, aiming to finish the season strong, starting with a crucial clash against Getafe on Wednesday.
Vinicius’ decision is a clear signal that he sees his future in Europe, and more specifically, in Madrid’s iconic white jersey.
