A video has gone viral showing a heated confrontation between a Nigerian woman and her husband after she discovered that a young girl he brought into their home abroad was not his niece as he had claimed.
In the footage, the wife, speaking in an Igbo accent, berates her husband for deceiving her about the identity of Chioma, who was brought into their home.
The wife, visibly agitated, demands that Chioma leave their home while accusing her husband of lying about the girl’s relationship with him.
Did you tell me she was your daughter? You told me she was your niece. I will post you. People will know you for who you are. You are a devil. Get out of this house, Chioma,” she exclaimed.
I will tear every one of your clothes. Is she your daughter?
The confrontation escalates, with the husband attempting to calm his wife down and pleading with her to stop recording the scene.
The wife, however, remains distraught, instructing the other children present to go upstairs and repeatedly pointing at Chioma, insisting that she should leave the house.
The video has sparked a mixed reaction from the public, with some people supporting the wife’s anger and others criticising her for involving the child.
BBNaija’s Queen Atang weighed in on the situation, saying that while the wife’s anger is understandable, the woman should not have blamed Chioma.
