Supporters of Abdul’aziz Yari, governor of Zamfara state, and Kabir Marafa, a senator from the state, disrupted the governorship primary election of the All progressives Congress (APC) in the state during the weekend.
Marafa is one of the governorship aspirants in the state. The national working committee (NWC) panel could not conclude the primary which was rescheduled as a result of violence.
Kadaira Ahmed, a journalist, shared a video of the violence which broke out during the rescheduled exercise.
Yari had earlier asked the NWC panel to stay away from the state.
Below is a video shared by Ahmed:

It is unclear if the APC in Zamfara met the October 7 deadline for the submission of names of candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
