Pheelz, the producer cum singer, has given Dr Dre, the American music star, a Nigerian name.
On Tuesday, the Nigerian shared photos of his meeting with Diddy, Dre, and Jimmy Iovine in the United States.
In an update, the ‘Electricity’ crooner was seen with Dre, whose real name is Andre Romelle Young, while the latter talked about the name given to him.
Pheelz named the 57-year-old “Mayowa” — which means someone that brings joy in the Yoruba language.

“Gave @drdre a Nigerian name Mayowa // meaning: Joy bringer,” he wrote in a terse post.
In the short clip, Dre was seen expressing his excitement at being given a Nigerian name.
“What’s up Nigeria, I’m here with my man Pheelz and he just gave me the name Mayowa. I’m just going to say peace and love. This is Dr. Dre,” he said.
Pheelz, born Philip Kayode, has established his name in the country’s entertainment industry.
He has produced a number of songs for some established Nigerian musicians including Olamide and Teni.
He has also been recognised for his work. In 2013 and 2014, he was nominated for The Headies.
He was also put up for the Nigeria Entertainment Awards in 2014.
With the release of his debut EP, ‘Hear Me Out’, in 2021, Pheelz started his transition into a musician.
