On Friday, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) suspended its more than eight-month strike and directed its members to resume work immediately.
Following the directive, several varsities in the country have announced resumption dates and their academic calendar.
TheCable Lifestyle examines some of the schools that have already resumed as well as those that have announced resumption dates.
UNIPORT
In a statement via its Facebook page, the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) announced that the institution will resume academic activities on October 16.
The varsity said all “Year One B students” for the first semester 2021/2022 academic session are expected to be in school on the fixed date.
According to the statement, revision for the first-semester examination will commence on October 17 and till October 21.
UniAbuja
The management of the University of Abuja (UniAbuja) also disclosed that the institution’s portal has been opened for undergraduate and postgraduate registration.
“This is to inform our undergraduate and postgraduate students that following the suspension of strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the portal is now open for registration. Students should complete their registration not later than 2 weeks from now,” it wrote on Twitter.

OAUSTECH
The Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH) is set to resume academic activities on October 17.
Federal University of Lafia
The Federal University of Lafia is billed to resume the second semester of the 2020/2021 academic session on October 30.
In a statement on its Twitter page, the institution said it will commence academic activities on October 31.

Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE)
The Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE) has announced it will resume the 2021/2022 academic session on October 17.
Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK)
In a statement on its Facebook page, the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) said the institution will resume on October 17 to complete the 2021/2022 session.
Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED)
The Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) resumed academic activities on October 14 — a few hours after ASUU suspended its strike.
Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa
Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa said it would commence the first semester of the 2021/2022 academic session on October 31.
Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike
The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike is also scheduled to resume on October 17.
