Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez was arrested for allegedly participating in a shooting in Morgan Hill, in Santa Clara, California, according to San José police reports.
According to an NBC report from the Bay area, a man was shot near Monterey Highway and Bailey Avenue, although he was transferred to a hospital in the region with injuries that fortunately did not put his health at risk.

A man was arrested at the scene of the shooting, although no further details were given of what happened or caused the incident.It was later discovered that it was Cain Velasquez.

The Santa Clara County Jail‘s official Twitter account details that Cain Velasquez is detained in the county prison, where he was given the number EGO439 and where he was not given access to any bail, for which he had to spend the night on the spot.
Units are currently at the scene of a shooting near the intersection of Monterey Hwy and Bailey Ave.

Velasquez will have his first hearing before the authorities this Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
The fighter was training at the American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) in San José, California, after retiring from mixed martial arts (three years ago) and having a step in Mexican wrestling and WWE. The fighter had decided return to the AKA to be part of a group of MMA trainers.
