US President Donald Trump today (Monday) stated that the war in Ukraine could be resolved “within weeks” as he met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the White House to discuss possible solutions to the conflict.

Macron, however, pressed Trump to maintain US support for Kyiv, stressing that Ukraine “must be involved” in any negotiations. His appeal followed reports that Trump had initiated direct talks with Moscow over the war.
