This is where Shakira took her kids on holiday before moving to Miami

Singer Shakira has decided to leave Barcelona after her split from former footballer Gerard Pique and, as she prepares to move to the United States, she has been spending time with her sons Milan and Sasha.

After a few days of intrigue about her destination, it was revealed that the Colombian singer is vacationing with her sons in the beautiful Turks and Caicos Islands as they prepare for their new life in Miami.

The singing star’s whereabouts had been a mystery since last weekend when she left Barcelona with her sons.

The Spanish press said she had chosen a “paradisiacal and remote” place to relax after her emotional break-up with Pique, which led her to launch songs against the retired footballer and his new girlfriend Clara Chia.

Shakira’s holiday to the Turks and Caicos Islands

It emerged this Sunday that she picked the British Overseas Territory of the Turks and Caicos Islands, famous for its golden sandy beaches and turquoise waters.

The destination of her Caribbean holiday was revealed as she prepared to pack her bags again for Miami, where her children will start school on Tuesday.

Shakira is said to have enrolled them at a well-known public-school north of the city.

Shakira’s new home in Miami

Her new home is expected to be an 18-million-dollar mansion in Miami’s glamorous South Beach area, which she bought in 2001 and reportedly put up for sale in 2018 before taking it off the market a few months ago once it became clear she wasn’t going to stay in Spain.

But, Shakira experts Lorena Vasquez and Laura Fa, who revealed the Colombian’s secret holiday spot, also reported that she is planning to move to 300-acre Indian Creek in northeast Miami-Dade County so she and her children can enjoy more privacy.

Shakira’s high-profile neighbors

Her wealthy neighbors will include Spanish singer Julio Iglesias, supermodel Adriana Lima, billionaire investor Carl Icahn, as well as fellow Super Bowl co-star Jennifer Lopez.

Earlier this year it was reported that Tom Brady was going ahead with the construction of the mansion on the island, dubbed “the world’s most exclusive township”, which was supposed to be the new family home he was to share with Gisele Bundchen before the couple’s divorce in 2021.

The island can only be accessed via a two-lane bridge and you have to be a resident or on a verified visitor’s list to get past security guards.

Thirteen full-time police officers guard the island by land and sea. This is just a taste of the exclusivity Shakira and her children will experience.
