Chief Magistrate Olatunbosun Adeola of a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court yesterday granted N5 million bail to each of five pupils of Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos being tried in connection with fellow schoolmate, Sylvester Omoroni’s death.
The court also ordered that the defendants stay within 2km of their residences at all times.
Adeola granted the students bail following their arraignment by the police on a two-count charge of conspiracy and homicide.
The five minors have been remanded in a juvenile home since December 9 over Omoroni’s death following alleged bullying by schoolmates for refusing to join their cult.
Chief Magistrate Adeola also ordered the defendants to produce two sureties each in like sum.
