Shehu Sani, the former lawmaker, has declined an invitation to be the judge of the upcoming 2025 Miss World Nigeria event.
The grand finale is scheduled to take place on April 4 in Lagos, where the top 10 finalists will be evaluated based on their dressing and other selection criteria.
In a recent X post, Ben Murray-Bruce, the founder of Silverbird Group, which organises the Miss World Nigeria pageant, had congratulated Sani on his selection as a judge.
He also advised him to be punctual and dress elegantly.
However, Sani turned down the offer, citing his inexperience in such a capacity.
Hearty congratulations to my good friend, Shehu Sani, @ShehuSani, on his appointment as a judge for the Miss World Nigeria Beauty Pageant, taking place on April 4th, 2025, at the Federal Palace Hotel. Kindly ensure you arrive on time; 6:00 PM sharp. And come dressed in your finest attire, he wrote.
However, Sani turned down the offer, citing his inexperience in such a capacity.
The former lawmaker jokingly mentioned that his wives would not be happy if he were to judge the beauty pageant, adding that he hasn’t been able to decide who is the most beautiful between them.
My wives will not be happy if I serve as a Judge. I have not been able to pass judgment on the most beautiful between my wives, let alone those I don’t know. I don’t have the knowledge or experience of such events. This is the Sallah period, during which we spend time with family and friends. Thank you for the honour, and I wish them well, he wrote in a now-deleted post.
Sani revealed that he wouldn’t be available on the day of the event, as it coincides with the Sallah period, a time to be with family and friends.
