Roma are one step away from the Europa Conference League quarter-finals after beating Vitesse 1-0 at the GelreDome on Thursday evening.
Sergio Oliveira scored the only goal of the game just before the half-time whistle, but the Portuguese midfielder was sent off in the 78th minute to set up a nervy ending.
Vitesse will feel hard done by to have not even drawn this match, as they had plenty of chances to score. In fact, that is shown in the xG, as Vitesse’s was 2.4 and Roma’s was 0.6. The Dutch side also had 61 percent possession to the Italians’ 39 percent.

Yet, Roma boss Jose Mourinho will not care as his side have recorded their third 1-0 win in a row.
We have been trying to build something from the first day. We might have more stability now, we have almost a full squad for the first time in a long time,” Mourinho told Sky Sport Italia.
“We’re more solid, we have more solutions, we understand each other better, are more pragmatic. Even in a difficult moment today, the team reacted.”
