Atanda, a 200-level student in the Department of Nursing, was declared missing after she went out to study at night on September 5.

However, the university’s management would later confirm that her corpse had been discovered in a shallow grave behind the nursing department’s lecture hall.

The FUOYE management ordered the evacuation of the university campus pending a full-scale probe on the matter.

The Ekiti state police command also revealed that it has arrested a total of 10 suspects in the case.

NAN reports that Rotimi, in a statement, called for a thorough investigation to bring the culprits to book.

The lawmaker, who represents Ekiti North 1, Ikole/Oye Federal Constituency, called on the Ekiti government, security agencies, and stakeholders in the community to collaborate in order to nab the culprits.

He also encouraged anyone with useful information related to the case to contact the police and assist in their probe.

“We owe it to the memory of late Atanda, to ensure our students, and indeed all residents in our communities are safe and secure as they go about their legitimate activities,” Rotimi said.

“It is through the collective efforts of the community that justice can be swiftly served and a sense of security restored.”
