February 20th will be the day of the NBA All-Star game in which Kevin Durant had been voted as the Eastern Conference’s main man with 5,5 million votes ahead of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 5,1 million.
He was clearly the most liked player of that conference and the top MVP contender alongside Stephen Curry during the first half of the season.
But either a small slump of games or an injury can make the world of difference for any player, regardless of their status.
In a recent turn of events, Kevin Durant suffered a painful knee injury that has kept him away from activity for a couple of weeks.
Unfortunately, there was a recent report today about his status and the news are not good.

Durant will miss the All-Star game.
During the Lakers vs Nets game in Brooklyn, journalist Chris Haynes reported that the Brooklyn Nets medical staf reached the decision to prevent Kevin Durant from playing hte All-Star game.
In wake of his recent knee injury, they don’t consider his participation in this even necessary.
Recovering as best as possible for the final stretch of the season is far more important than this game.
With this news, Giannis Antetokounmpo is the one who will lead the charge from the Eastern Conference against the West on February 20th. Haynes also reported that Durant himself agreed that resting was the best option for him.

This will be the second straight year in which Durant will miss the All-Star game due to an injury. He suffered a hamstring injury last season and wasn’t able to attend the event when it happened. According to Haynes, the league revealed to him that this decision came because getting a complete recovery from the MCL sprain is the only way Durant has any chances of going deep into the Playoffs if the Brooklyn Nets make it this season. What do you think about Kevin Durant’s confirmed absence from the NBA All-Star game in Cleveland next month?
