A few weeks after his triumph at Roland Garros, it has been reported that Rafael Nadal and Xisca Perello are expecting their first child together.
The Spanish tennis player beat Casper Ruud in the French Open final to win a record 14th Roland Garros, this being his 22nd Grand Slam success.
According to magazine ¡Hola!, Perello has revealed her new maternity silhouette in a swimsuit after being spotted wearing a comfortable dress in the Paris final.
Images that hinted at pregnancy
Nadal uploaded a photo with some friends on his personal Instagram account in which Perello appeared in loose looks that sparked rumours about her pregnancy.
The 36-year-old star married his 33-year-old wife back on October 19, 2019. For the time being, there is no official confirmation about the pregnancy.
Desire to have kids
Back in 2017, Nadal expressed his desire to have kids in the future.
“I have the intention and hope of forming a family,” Nadal said.
“I love children and I would like my children to do what they like.”
Three years later, he also referred to the hypothetical scenario of having children, indicating that he would want them to be dedicate time of their lives into sport.
“I would like them to play sport, whatever they want,” Nadal stressed.
“I think that there are sports, not all of them, obviously, that help to grow up with the right values of companionship, effort, respect, and I think that it is a good educational model for young people. So, yes, I would like that.
But sport is not the only way to get a good education. There are others that are also very valid.
“But I, as a sportsman and knowing what the world of sport is like, I would really like them to be sportsmen and sportswomen in some way. I’m not saying professionals, but that they have the spirit of being sportsmen and women.”
