The Ogun State office of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has launched an onslaught against fuel stations under-dispensing fuel to customers at various locations in the state as the authority sealed some filling stations found culpable in the Sagamu area of the state.
Leading the team during the surveillance Carried out in Abeokuta and Sagamu, the state coordinator of the regulatory authority, Akinyemi Atilola, said the sealing of the filling stations has become imperative in view of the sharp practices of some of the stations and the need to ensure value for money for customers.
While assuring the general public of protection of their rights through best practices, he warned owners of petrol stations against unlawful practices or they would face the full wrath of the law.
He said, We need to know the quantity of fuel that is being dispensed to the masses, to also know that they have value for their money. So many of these stations will be monitored and we will definitely go after whoever is doing compromising quality, and quantity.

He said the stations found culpable would be heavily sanctioned because people “can’t spending money on buying fuel at N980 per litre and still be having shortages.
