In the early hours of Sunday morning, Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro confirmed the signing of Diego Costa.
The 32-year-old had been a free agent since leaving Atletico Madrid at the end of December 2020, and after being linked with the likes of Benfica and Besiktas he has taken the decision to return home to Brazil.

Costa has put pen to paper on a contract until December 2022 at Atletico Mineiro, who are the current leaders of the Brasileirao.
Curiously, this will be the first time in Costa’s career that he has played his club football in Brazil, having only played in Portugal, Spain and Chelsea as a professional player.
