Rapper Odumodublvck has been named Leadership Newspaper’s Artist of the Year for 2024, cementing his status as Africa’s most prominent hip-hop force.
This latest milestone follows a powerhouse year for the rapper, whose chart-topping hits and bold artistry have reshaped Nigerian rap. Accompanied by his mother and members of the Anti-World Gangstars, Odumodublvck received the award in a moment that was both personal and symbolic of his journey so far.
Fresh off dropping his surprise 16-track mixtape ‘The Machine Is Coming’, a prelude to his much-anticipated album ‘Industry Machine’, Odumodublvck continues to push boundaries. The tape features a star-studded lineup with Victony, Rondodasosa, Shallipopi, BOJ, and more — including the hit single ‘Pity This Boy’ which has already clocked 17 million Spotify streams.
This mixtape follows the massive success of his 2023 project ‘Eziokwu’, which birthed smash hits like ‘Declan Rice’, ‘Wotowoto Seasoning’, and ‘Dog Eat Dog II’.
