Specifically, Wale Olokode, police commissioner in Osun, revealed this latest information during a radio programme.

“One of the suspects confessed that the MD is the son of Dr Ramon Adedoyin. His name is Roheem Adedoyin, who is now at large,” said Mr Olokode on a radio programme at Rave FM, Osogbo. “He also confessed that he (Roheem) organised the corpse to be thrown into a bush. The MD along with two managers took the corpse to the bush.”

According to Mr Olokode, even though the deceased had lodged in the hotel and was suspected killed in the hotel, none of the hotel staff members informed the police of the kidnapping.

They all had tried to conceal the murder of the student before the police got a missing person report and swung into action through the anti-kidnapping team.

“None of the staff members informed the police. It was the report of the missing person that made the anti-kidnaping team, who then discovered through their meticulous investigation and traced their so-called missing person to that hotel and then traced the corpse, where it was found,” Mr Olokode further added.

Last week, the police arrested Oduduwa University owner Mr Adedoyin over the death of Mr Adegoke. Mr Adedoyin owns Hilton Hotel and Resort, a facility in which Mr Adegoke lodged.

Mr Adegoke lodged in the hotel on November 5 to sit his examinations at the OAU distance learning centre in Moro, Osun.

The student was declared missing two days after lodging into the hotel and was later found dead.

The student’s body was found mutilated, with parts of his body buried near the hotel, according to the deceased’s family.

An Islamic cleric who allegedly oversaw the ritual stole the victim’s phone. The police used the phone to track down the suspect.

The police command in Osun said it had arrested six people linked to Mr Adegoke’s death.

A police spokeswoman in Osun, Yemisi Opalola, announced Mr Adedoyin was arrested on November 15.

According to the command, Mr Adedoyin is undergoing interrogation in connection with the case while the police await an autopsy report from the hospital.
