The National Examination Council (NECO) says results for its 2021 Senior Secondary School Examination (SSCE) will be released “very soon.”
Azeez Sani, spokesman of the council, gave the update on Tuesday when contacted by TheCable Lifestyle.
In August, NECO had hinted that the results could be released shortly after marking, which it said usually takes up to three weeks.
But the council has kept mum since then over the specific date that the results would be released.
This has continued to elicit concerns among candidates who sat for the exam as they look forward to seeing the outcome of their efforts.
According to Sani, the SSCE results are already being processed, adding that the council would release them in due course.
The council’s spokesman, however, did not reveal the actual date for the release of the results.
Sani also disclosed that the council’s initial position was that marking of the exam would be done in three weeks, not release of results.
“There was never a time that we said the results would be released in three weeks. We only said marking will start in three weeks,” he told Gidipoint Lifestyle.
“In any case, we’re processing the results and they would be released very very soon. No specific date, for now, that’s why I said very soon which could be tomorrow, next tomorrow, or in four days time.”
