Sevilla have confirmed the signing of Manchester City playmaker Samir Nasri on a season-long loan. The 29-year-old flew to Spain on Tuesday night and the La Liga side held discussions with City sporting director Txiki Begiristain, who has been stationed at the club’s training ground.Sevilla said they were ‘trying to close a deal’ for Nasri just a few hours ago and have now confirmed the move for the former French international, who is the Andalusians’ 10th signing this summer.
Pep Guardiola has been proactive in the transfer market, with Wilfried Bony and Joe Hart also leaving the Etihad Stadium temporarily.
Guardiola said a few days ago that Nasri can stay at Manchester City ‘if he wants to help us and be part of something.’
The Frenchman reported for pre-season training overweight and was seemingly cast aside by Guardiola as a raft of new attackers arrived at the Etihad.¡@SamNasri19 bienvenido al #SevillaFC! ????????⚽ pic.twitter.com/jrwzK7iN0B

But the former Barcelona boss has changed his tune about the playmaker and believes ‘his quality is on another level.’
Nasri is the third senior City player to leave the club on loan on deadline day.
Hart’s temporary move to Torino was confirmed while Bony has been loaned to Stoke City. Eliaquim Mangala is also set to depart to Valencia.
