Nancy Isime, the Nigerian actress, has dismissed claims that her lifestyle is being bankrolled by Micheal Diongoli, the entrepreneur.
On Monday, a blog had alleged that the businessman was the one “practically sponsoring all her (Nancy’s) lifestyle.”
It also alleged that the pair are in a relationship.
The blog had claimed that the entrepreneur — referred to as a married man — paid for the model’s recent trip to Istanbul in Turkey.
The report also alleged that the businessman was the one funding the lifestyles of other female celebrities such as Nuella Njibigbo, Nengi, and Onyi Alex.
But in a series of posts via her Instagram stories on Tuesday, the film star and media personality denied the allegations.
The actress said the post is another evidence of discrimination against women — particularly actresses — bracing the odds to succeed in Nigeria.
“If you’re a Nigerian woman with plans to be successful. Please add these names to your plans so it doesn’t surprise you when it happens ‘Ashawo, Olosho,” she wrote.
“Especially if you decide to be an actress it’s an automatic naming ceremony if you like be virgin! I knew the ‘breaking news’ was coming. There’s been too much positive news about me Online, not everyone likes that.
“Once your name drives traffic, the propaganda begins with or without evidence. But listen, I refuse to be bullied by patriarchy! Sad part is I haven’t even scratched surface yet. God just started with me.”
Isime also dared the blogger to release evidence to buttress the allegations against her.
“Like I said, since we can’t sue a faceless account. We at least deserve concrete proof of the allegation laid,” she added.
“Dig it all up let’s see. Not just resort to calling names and trying to bully me into silence out of fear and even restricting my comments so no one can see then screenmunching the same comment for clout.”
The actress confirmed knowing the businessman but said they were only business partners.
