Marcus Rashford says he is “playing better” at Aston Villa after his brace helped them secure a dominant 3-0 victory over Preston in the FA Cup quarter-finals. The win sets up a semi-final clash against Crystal Palace, with Rashford admitting he is rediscovering his form after a short-term move from Manchester United.
Since joining Villa, the England international has contributed two goals and four assists in 10 games, an improvement from his underwhelming tally of seven goals and three assists in 24 matches for United.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Rashford expressed his satisfaction: “It’s a great feeling. It’s always nice for a forward to get a goal, so hopefully it continues. I feel like I’ve been getting fitter and playing better football since I’ve been here. My body feels good, and I’m enjoying my football for now.”
Villa will now shift focus to their upcoming Premier League fixtures against Brighton on Wednesday and Nottingham Forest next weekend.
