Ronald Koeman received some good news on Friday as Marc-Andre ter Stegen returned to training with his Barcelona teammates, having completed his rehab work following the surgery he had at the end of last season.
In the coming days the goalkeeper will increase the intensity of his training with a view to being available for next weekend’s fixture against Getafe.
Marc-André Ter Stegen Injury
Ter Stegen missed Euro 2020 in order to sort out and recover from a problem in his right knee, but his treatment has gone according to plan and the end goal is in sight.
With a tight budget, Barcelona‘s reinforcements will now have to come from the treatment room, so Koeman will be glad to have the first of his injured stars available.
Oscar Mingueza and Philippe Coutinho could join Ter Stegen in being available for the Getafe game, while Ansu Fati, Sergio Aguero and Ousmane Dembele still face a number of weeks on the sidelines, especially in the case of the latter two.
Nevertheless, the Barcelona treatment room has slowly begun to empty and that can only be a positive.
