Magnito kicks as Oladips releases diss track over Headies snub

Magnito, the Nigerian rapper, has responded to Oladips’ diss track over his exclusion from the 2025 Headies nomination list.

The drama began when the Headies announced the nominees for the 17th edition, scheduled for April 5.

Oladips, who was noticeably absent from the ‘Best Rap Single’ category, expressed his disappointment through a diss track on his Instagram page.

In the track, captioned @theheadies make I school una real quick cos una just dey wurugbon l’enu. It doesn’t get more hip-hop than this, the rapper vented his annoyance at the organisers of the award ceremony.

But in a recent interview with HipTV, Magnito shared his thoughts on the matter, seemingly taking a jab at Oladips.

Magnito, who is nominated in the same category alongside Odumodublvck, Ladipoe, and Jeriq, sarcastically suggested that the award organisers should have included Oladips’ songs to make him happy.

The rapper emphasized that one’s priority is what matters, stating that his focus is on getting more gigs and making money.

For him to have dropped a diss track for that category, shows that he needs the award more than all of us. HipTV would have just tried, at least put one of his stuff there, it would have made him happy because I think he is hardworking too, he said.

“But at times you see all of this stuff, it depends on what your priority is. Like if I do not find my name there, I would not be bothered because my priority is how to get more of the gigs that I get because I love money so much.

So I am all about multiplying the money but when I saw it there, I saw how important it was for my name to be there.

Magnito argued that rappers are often controversial and that Oladips’ reaction was not unexpected.

He also taunted Oladips, saying “he might end up dropping a diss track for all of us in that category.

But rappers are very controversial people, you can expect anything from any rapper,” he said.

He might end up dropping a diss track for all of us in that category and is expected from anybody. I have seen HipTV categories before where I did not see my name. I have seen the list of Nigerian rappers and I don’t see my name there.

So many people do not consider me a rapper but I know what I am doing. Many of the rappers that are there are my students when it comes to rap music. At times it does not bother me as long as it does not affect my income.
