Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has set his sights on guiding Udinese to a tenth-place finish in Serie A as the season approaches its conclusion. Currently sitting in 11th place, Udinese is 16 points off the last European spot, but Okoye remains hopeful for a strong finish.
Okoye has been a key figure for the Bianconeri, featuring in 19 games and keeping three clean sheets. His performance has been solid, with a 66.3% save rate. Reflecting on the team’s recent setbacks, Okoye emphasized that despite their frustrations, there have been positives to build on.
“We need to regain our heads and strength. We are angry, but in the four defeats we had some opportunities, there are many things that we did well and we need to start again from those,” Okoye shared.
With important fixtures ahead against Torino, Bologna, Cagliari, Monza, Juventus, and Fiorentina, Okoye is optimistic about Udinese’s chances to finish strong in the league.
The goalkeeper’s career had experienced a dip a few years ago, but his move from Watford to Udinese has allowed him to make a solid comeback and rediscover his form.
