Distance has proved no barrier to the friendship between Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi as the pair shared a meal together in the Spanish capital on Tuesday.
Barcelona let Suarez leave last summer, but Los Cules can now no longer win LaLiga Santander, and Atletico Madrid can.
It’s likely the pair will have discussed the small matter of the league title, and there is no doubt that Messi will be hoping Atleti secure the trophy ahead of Real Madrid.
A pairing for the ages
Few partnerships have been as successful as Messi and Suarez‘s at the Camp Nou, and they were integral to the Blaugrana’s last Champions League triumph in 2015.
Atletico pulled off a masterstroke in letting Alvaro Morata go to Juventus, whilst signing one of the best forwards of the last decade.
Barcelona decided he wasn’t good enough for the club, and since he has scored important goals for Los Rojiblancos, goals that could lead them to the title.
