Lil Wayne Shockingly Admits He’s Never Heard JAY-Z and Kanye West’s ‘Watch The Throne’

Hip Hop fans are stunned after Lil Wayne confessed in a new Rolling Stone cover story that he’s never listened to ‘Watch The Throne’, the iconic joint album by Kanye West and JAY-Z.

During the interview published Thursday (April 17), the legendary rapper responded with genuine confusion when journalist Andre Gee brought up the 2011 album:
“What’s that?” Wayne asked.
When told it was the collaborative project by Kanye and Hov, he replied, “They did an album?” leaving fans speechless.

The two reportedly spent the next five minutes going through tracks like “No Church in the Wild,” “Otis,” and “N**gas in Paris.”

The revelation hits even harder considering the history between Lil Wayne and JAY-Z. Back in 2011, Hov seemingly took shots at Birdman on “H·A·M”, rapping:
“Really, half a billi, nga, really? / You got baby money.”**
Wayne didn’t let it slide, famously firing back on “It’s Good” off Tha Carter IV:
“Talkin’ ‘bout baby money? I got your baby money / Kidnap your bch, get that ‘how much you love your lady’ money.”**

Though JAY later brushed off the tension as “sport,” he still tossed another jab in 2013’s “La Familia.”

To be fair, Wayne has admitted to forgetting parts of his own Tha Carter series, so forgetting Watch The Throne might just be another moment of Wayne being Wayne but rap fans online aren’t likely to let this one slide easily.

After all, Watch The Throne isn’t just an album. It’s a hip hop moment.
