Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly rejected a bid of 40 million euros plus Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic from Barcelona for Neymar.
PSG boss Thomas Tuchel revealed on Tuesday that the Brazilian wanted to leave the Ligue 1 champions and the forward has been heavily linked with a return to the Camp Nou.
This is according to French newspaper L’Equipe, who say that the bid was simply made through spoken word rather than officially written down.
After the signing of Antoine Griezmann, Barcelona is in no position to spend a fortune on Neymar this summer and have been forced to include players like Coutinho and Rakitic in the deal.
Barcelona would like to sell Coutinho during this transfer window and offering him as part of the deal to sign Neymar looks like the best solution for both clubs and the player.
As for Rakitic, he’s facing stiff competition in the center of Ernesto Valverde‘s midfield after the arrival of Frenkie de Jong.
However, PSG is having none of it for the moment, even though they know Neymar won’t be happy.
