With the bodies discovered on Tuesday, the death toll has now risen to seven, all men.

We recalls that the Sienna bus marked APP830HX, was heading towards Lagos from Benin when it lost control on the bridge near J4, Ijebu-East Local Government Area of Ogun.

On Saturday, local divers recovered three dead bodies and rescued one man.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said two bodies were also recovered by the divers on Monday.

FRSC spokesperson in Ogun, Florence Okpe, informed that two additional bodies were found on Tuesday, making a total of seven casualties so far.

“Update of Omo River crash: Two dead bodies found again by local divers, making a total of seven killed,” Okpe said on Tuesday night.

The FRSC spokesperson had earlier blamed the crash on speeding, which she said made the driver to lose control of the vehicle and it catapulted into the water from the bridge.

We also recalls that the crash was the latest of similar ones that had claimed lives on the same highway.
