NBA players are among the highest-paid athletes in the world, yet even some of American basketball’s biggest stars were shocked when they found out how much Leo Messi earned at Barcelona.
Messi is officially no longer a Barcelona player after his contract expired on June 30 and, both Kevin Durant, who signed a four-year contract worth 164 million dollars for the Brooklyn Nets and Isaiah Thomas who is a free agent, reacted on social media when they learned of the Argentine’s deal.

The Barcelona legend’s four year deal with the Catalans was worth an estimated 555 million euros (674m dollars), and the NBA reacted to a tweet that detailed his salary.
OMG. I gotta put my kids in Futbol lol,” wrote Thomas.
“Insane,” Durant commented.
