Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has hailed former Chelsea winger Eden Hazard as one of the most talented players in football history.
Speaking to Sky Sports, De Bruyne ranked Hazard among the top five players of his era, just behind Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Neymar.
“For me, it has to be Eden. He is so, so good. Talent-wise, he’s probably top five in the world behind Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar. On his day, Eden was incredible,” De Bruyne said.
The Belgian playmaker highlighted Hazard’s exceptional dribbling ability and fearless attacking style.
“His quality in one-v-one situations, his dribbling—he never seemed to care, he was just playing football,” he added.
De Bruyne, who played alongside Hazard for Belgium for over a decade, also praised his former teammate’s personality, calling him a “really nice guy.”
Hazard, who retired in 2023 after injury struggles at Real Madrid, remains a legend in the Premier League, having won two league titles and two Europa League trophies with Chelsea.
De Bruyne revealed he recently spoke with Hazard and said the ex-Chelsea icon is enjoying life post-retirement.
“I spoke to him before the Chelsea game. His son was coming to the game. He’s enjoying his life, and I’m happy he’s happy. He was such a talented player.”
Despite his challenges in Spain, Hazard’s legacy as one of football’s most entertaining dribblers remains untouchable.
