In a statement released on Monday, the union’s chairman, Dr. Peter Adamu, confirmed that the decision was made on Saturday following the state government’s response to their demands.

Government’s Commitments

Adamu outlined key agreements reached with the government, including:

– Immediate release of funds to pay 60% of September 2017 withheld salaries and SIWES supervision allowance for five sessions.
– A timeline for the payment of five months’ withheld salaries (May–September 2022), promotion arrears, Earned Academic Allowance (EAA), pension remittance (2009–2019), death benefits, and Group Life Assurance.
– Commitment to implementing wage awards and granting university autonomy.

Appreciation and Call to Resume Work

The union expressed gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for his swift intervention, as well as the university management and other stakeholders who played a role in resolving the dispute.

Adamu urged all academic staff to return to their duties and continue contributing to the university’s academic progress.
