After starting the season with two draws and two defeats, Juventus finally recorded their first three points of the Serie A season against Spezia on Wednesday evening.
It wasn’t easy for Massimiliano Allegri’s team though, as they had to fight back from 2-1 down to win the tie in the second half.
Moise Kean had given the visitors the lead in the first half, but Thiago Motta’s side came back with a goal on either side of halftime to take the lead.
Emmanuel Gyasi struck before the break and Janis Antiste scored shortly after the start of the second half to set alarm bells ringing.
That lead lasted almost 20 minutes before Federico Chiesa recovered the ball in the corner and waltzed through the Spezia defence to level the tie.
Matthijs de Ligt scored the eventual winner with an awkward volley as the ball ping-ponged around the box from a corner.
Barcelona loanee Rey Manaj was also involved as he came on to make his Spezia debut in the final moments of the encounter.
The result sees Juventus move up to mid-table in Serie A, still five points off the top four with five games played.
