Juventus have finally agreed the £30million signing of Italy midfielder Manuel Locatelli

According to Tuttosport and SportItalia, an agreement that saw satisfactory to Sassuolo was finally struck on Tuesday afternoon after a fifth meeting between the two parties.

Juventus director of football Federico Cherubini rewrote the club’s proposal to sign Locatelli and it finally proved acceptable to Sassuolo, who spent only £11m to sign the player from AC Milan two years ago.

Locatelli impressed during Euro 2020 and featured in Italy's win over England in the final

The Turin club had originally wanted only an option, rather than an obligation, to buy following the loan spell but in the end had to back down to force the move through.

Locatelli had his heart set on joining Juventus and reinforces the midfield options available to returning manager Massimiliano Allegri ahead of their opening Serie A game at Udinese on Sunday.

He featured in five of Italy’s seven Euro 2020 matches during a victorious campaign that saw them defeat England on penalties in the Wembley final.
