In what will be Netflix’s first-ever live comedy special that will air in 190 countries, Chris Rock takes on a massive responsibility for the platform. But there are very few live events that will get attention from every person in the world, one of them is Chris Rock and whatever he has to say about Will Smith’s slap at the Oscars last year.
One full year flew quickly and Netflix decided to offer the comedian a chance to let it all out as he’s been preparing this killer set that he named ‘Selective Outrage’. The special will be live streamed from Baltimore’s Hippodrome Theatre on March 4. We’ve already reported on multiple people talking about some of the material Chris Rock has prepared.
However, there are some jokes that leaked online from a January comedy show that shows him talking about the slap as he gets ready for this special. Make no mistake, Rock’s special is definitely polished because he knows the entire world will be watching. Both the Wall Street Journal and The US Sun reported on the jokes they heard from comedy rooms where he performed two months ago. This is what he said during his sets: “The thing people want to know . . . did it hurt? Hell yeah, it hurt. He played Muhammad Ali! I played Pookie! Even in animated movies, I’m a zebra, he’s a f***ing shark. got hit so hard I heard Summertime ringing in my ears.”
Chris Rock is spotted in New York City a week before his special
In recet pictures taken by The Daily Mail, Chris Rock was spotted by cameras walking around the streets of New York City. He was well-covered due to the cold and even stopped to take some pictures with some fans. Rock seems pretty relazed ahead of a tremendous occassion for his career. He is getting to finally unload on what happened to him last year with the entire world watching. Judging on how many knew about this when it took place, chances are this could compete for the most watched content on Netflix history. For the first time ever, they will live stream an event. Took them long enough…
