While Johnny Depp still deals with the legal batlle with his former wife Amber Heard, the 59 year old actor managed to sell over $3.5 million worth of his artwork in a matter of hours.
The famous actor who gave life to ‘Jack Sparrow’ announced today on Instagram that he was selling some of the paintings he had made, through Castle Fine Art in London.

What were the paintings in Johnny Depp’s debut collection?
This was Johnny Depp’s debut collection, sold 780 pieces after they were offered at Castle Fine Art’s 37 galleries.
Depp called it “Friends and Heroes”, as it depicted the people who inspired him, such as Al Pacino, Keith Richards, Elizabeth Taylor and Bob Dylan.
It’s been reported that a complete portofolio of four images was sold for over $18,000 dollars while the framed individual images went for around $5,000.
“I’ve always used art to express my feelings”, Depp said, before he added.
“My paintings surround my life, but I kept them to myself and limited myself. No one should ever limit themselves.”
How is Johnny Depp’s art described?
Castle Fine Art described the actor’s paintings as being situated at the intersection of pop art and street art, claiming it is pop art with a feeling.
The gallery had long awaited for Depp to finally agree to stage an exhibition and sale of his art, and are in talks with him to host more of his work in the future.
