Jeremy Renner’s accident happened three months ago, menwhile the actor continues his painful rehabilitation, and he finally opened up to Diane Sawyer this Saturday and he made serious confessions about everything he lived through.

In the interview dubbed “A Story of Terror, Survival and Triumph“, Renner spoke openly about his recollection of the accident and that once he woke up he felt so hopeless that he even thought about undergoing euthanasia.

As The Hollywood Reporter explained, Jeremy Renner felt his injuries would be permanent, after he was run over by a ‘snowcat’ in his front yard that caused severe bleeding and multiple fractures. “If he had been there alone, it would have been a horrible way to go and he would have surely died.”
As a result, he accepted that he thought about asking for a mercy killing because he would never be able to recover from his injuries, so he asked his family:

The serious accident occurred just after New Year’s and resulted in more than 30 fractures, including his eye socket, eight broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a major laceration to his head.

While his rib cage had to be reconstructed with metal plates, his face and jaw are held in place with elastic bands and screws
Despite everything, the actor has been brave to continue his painful recovery and even started walking with the help of a zero gravity machine and reiterated that he would intervene again in a similar situation to save his nephew from the snowmobile driving over him. “I refuse to let this be a trauma and a negative experience,” he said.
