Jamie Carragher Hilariously Trolled by Train Driver After Liverpool’s UCL Exit

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher became the target of some playful trolling after the Reds’ Champions League elimination at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking on CBS Sports, Carragher recounted how a train driver—an Arsenal fan—mocked him by playing the Champions League anthem over the tannoy while he was traveling.

“I was on the train this morning, obviously a bit disappointed about last night,” Carragher said. “The Champions League music comes on. I’m thinking: ‘Why? Never heard that before.’ Then the guy starts saying: ‘When you get to Euston, if you want directions to Paris…’”

Carragher later found out the driver was an Arsenal fan and made sure to return the banter. “I told the train attendant to remind him that Arsenal haven’t won anything in 20 years,” he joked.

Liverpool had entered their second-leg clash against PSG with a 1-0 aggregate lead, but Ousmane Dembélé’s goal forced extra time. The match went to penalties, where Liverpool lost 4-1, with Darwin Núñez and Curtis Jones missing their spot-kicks.

Arne Slot’s team will now turn their focus to the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle at Wembley on Sunday, as they look to bounce back from their European heartbreak.
