Legendary Juju musician Sunday Adegeye, widely known as King Sunny Ade (KSA), has debunked rumors of his alleged kidnapping, setting the record straight in a new video shared online.
The confusion began after his daughter, Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye, raised an alarm on social media late yesterday, claiming the 78-year-old icon had been missing for weeks. She pointed fingers at KSA’s manager and stepbrother, Dayo Adegeye, alleging he was relocating the music legend between hotels and cutting off access to his family.
In response, King Sunny Ade has now addressed the public directly:
“My children wanted to see me, they thought I was kidnapped after I went away for a few days to rest. But I thank God, I was not kidnapped and I didn’t kidnap myself.”
The clarification was also supported by a formal statement from his manager, who earlier denied any claims of kidnapping or foul play.
KSA’s video has brought relief to fans and followers, as many expressed concern following the viral reports. The music legend emphasized he simply took time off to rest and find peace away from the public and family stress.
