Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has relaxed the curfew imposed on Ifon and Ilobu communities following a boundary dispute crisis.
The curfew, initially set from 7 PM to 7 AM, has now been adjusted to 10 PM to 4 AM, effective March 2, 2025. The decision was announced by the Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, who cited a gradual return to peace as the reason for the adjustment.
🔹 Security forces, including the Nigerian Army, Police, and Civil Defence, will continue 24-hour surveillance to prevent further unrest.
🔹 Governor Adeleke urged residents, traditional rulers, and stakeholders to embrace peace and use the holy month of Ramadan for prayers and reconciliation.
🔹 He warned that anyone attempting to disrupt the fragile peace would face the full weight of the law.
The government remains committed to permanently resolving the dispute and ensuring lasting stability in the affected communities.
