Ware, who hasn’t played in the NFL since 2004, was also charged with tampering with evidence, specifically a corpse. Pomaski was found dead in Texas back in 2021.

“Prosecutors presented the evidence to a Harris County grand jury, which determined there was sufficient evidence for criminal charges,” Harris County district attorney Kim Ogg said.

“We will follow the evidence wherever it leads and apply the law equally to all.”

Having last been seen at a party at her home in Texas in April 2021, Pomaski was missing for as long as seven months.

Authorities suspected foul play in her disappearance from the beginning, and Ware was identified as a suspect by prosecutors as far back as June 2021.

Pomaski’s remains were found in December of that same year in Harris County. She was 29 years old.

Now Ware is facing a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, but could be handed a life sentence.

He is currently being jailed on unrelated gun and drug charges in Montgomery County, as per NBC News.

“We encourage anyone who has knowledge of what happened between Kevin and Taylor to come forward,” Lacy Johnson, a prosecutor handling the case, said, as reported by NBC News.
