On Thursday, some Nigerians commenced a 10-day protest against economic hardship and soaring inflation in various parts of the country.

The protests have been dubbed ’10 Days of Rage’ with the hashtag #EndBadGovernance.

Some social media users appeared to have called out celebrities to lend their voices to the protest.

Addressing fans who jumped on the comment section of his X page to call him out, Burna Boy said the fight in him to support the demonstration died on October 20, 2020, during the EndSARS protest.

He, however, warned his fans not to drag him into the ongoing nationwide demonstration.

The fight in me Died on this day. Ogun go doggy anybody wey call my name this time around, he wrote while quoting a tweet from October 10, 2020, which he captioned, “Even Jesus was crucified.

The post from nearly four years ago captured the moment some Nigerians protesting declined to have his songs play during their demonstration.

F**k Burna Boy. We don’t want Burna Boy’s songs here. Cancel. Please play Davido,” the protesters chorused in cacophony in the less than 30-second footage.

Spyro, another singer, said it is “insensitive to post anything entertainment” during a national crisis.
