Ekene Umenwa, the Nigerian actress, and Ifeanyi Ogbodo Alex, her husband, have welcomed their first child together.
The actress announced the baby arrival in a post via her Instagram page on Monday.
The film star also shared her pregnancy photoshoot, wherein she dressed like the Virgin Mary, a revered figure in Christianity, known as the mother of Jesus and wife of Joseph
In an accompanying caption, Umenwa disclosed the photoshoot theme was inspired by a vision and attempt to honour Mother Mary’s maternal care and intercession.
I am truly blessed by the Lord’s mercies. My pregnancy was a wonderful experience and I give praise to the blessed trinity and honour to our Mother Mary, who stood by me throughout, she wrote.
In my humble attempt to honour her maternal care and intercession, I was inspired by a vision she gave while praying at the grotto.
It brings me immense joy to be able to dress as Mother Mary, whom I hold dear. Although I feel unworthy to stand in her presence, her mercy has touched me deeply.
The child’s name, gender, and date of birth were not disclosed.
Umenwa and Alex, who is a movie producer, tied the knot in November 2023.
