Chris Rock addressed his lack of comment on the incident as he continued his post-Oscars comedy tour.
“I’m OK,” the 57-year-old South Carolina native told attendees at his Fantasy Springs comedy show in Palm Springs, California, on Saturday, April 9, according to the Desert Sun newspaper. “I have a whole show and I’m not talking about that until I get paid.”

If Chris means he’s waiting for a network to pay him for a sit-down, you’d think he and his team have already been approached by every broadcast company in the game. Maybe they’re just waiting for the right offer. Could a Netflix special be on the way?
Rock made headlines last month after making a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head at the 94th Academy Awards. Rock joked that because of her shaved hair, Jada Pinkett Smith could star in a G.I. Jane sequel shortly before presenting the Best Documentary Feature trophy to Questlove. While her husband, Will Smith, walked on stage and smacked Rock across the face, Pinkett Smith subtly rolled her eyes at the remark.
Will Smith initially laughed, but when looking at his wife, he decided to change moods and slap Chris. All just for Jada, and Chris didn’t even mean that. Absolute SIMP! pic.twitter.com/fIHVVw6oFq

Despite Rock’s refusal to file a police report during the incident, attendees recognized the comedian’s underlying emotion. Of course, there’s another, slightly more sinister interpretation of his words: perhaps he’s referring to a civil lawsuit against Will, in which he could be compensated in the same way.
Chris Rock’s comedy tour
Chris appears to be in good spirits and is getting along fine. In any case, the Desert Sun has more information about Chris’ new comedy tour set.
He allegedly targeted celebrities and politicians such as Hillary Clinton, the Kardashians, Meghan Markle, and others. As it relates to offending people these days, he reportedly made fun of corporations and their diversity initiatives, as well as invoking his family life, being single, and cancel culture.

Chris appears to be opening up more and more as his tour progresses. Remember, in his first East Coast shows, all he said was that he’s still processing the smack. Now, it appears he’s finding some humor in the whole thing.
