Chinedu Ikedieze, the Nollywood actor, has revealed how he met Osita Iheme, his colleague.
In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the media personality, Ikedieze said he and Osita connected immediately upon their first meeting.
He recounted a situation in Aba, a city in Abia state, where a woman in a market mistook him for Osita and handed him Osita’s clothes.
Ikedieze also said his schoolmates had often pointed out his resemblance to someone else.
He added that when they finally crossed paths, he felt that their meeting was “destined to be”.
“From the first day I met Osita, there was this chemistry, it was just there,” he said.
“But before then, something happened. I have an uncle I always visit in Aba. I noticed something. Whenever I went to the market to buy clothes, I would meet one woman that would ask me, ‘You were here yesterday? Remember you said I should keep these clothes for you’. She will give me the clothes.
“When Osita comes, she will tell Osita ‘You came and collected the clothes.’ So it was happening. I did not even know.
“And even when I was in school, people had already started telling me, ‘Chinedu, we saw someone that looks like you’.
“So that day, when I saw him, I was like, ‘yeah, that is the guy’. It was destined to be.”
‘Aki na Ukwa’, a 2002 Nigerian comedy film launched the acting careers of the two actors. The film also marked their maiden collaboration as ‘Aki and Paw Paw’.
Their chemistry has been celebrated by the Nollywood community.
In 2021, they delighted fans by remaking the iconic movie.
They have both received several awards and honorary mentions for their talents.
