Chelsea have appointed Antonio Conte as their new first team coach on a three-year deal according to Gazzetta World.Although the former Juventus boss is currently in charge of the Italy national team, he will take over the London club after Euro 2016 in France this summer.Conte revealed that only a club as illustrious as Chelsea would have been able to tempt him away from his role in charge of the Azzurri and is already excited about the challenge ahead.
Conte, whose deal is worth £4.75million a year after tax, said: ‘I am very excited about the prospect of working at Chelsea football club. I am proud to be the coach of the national team of my country and only a role as attractive as manager of Chelsea could follow that.
‘I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the club and the day-to-day challenge of competing in the Premier League.
